YOUR PHOTOS. YOUR DEVICE.
Privacy policy.
Effective 14 October 2026
Shot Stamp processes photos locally on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. The app does not upload your photos, collect analytics, track you or require an account.
Shot Stamp and this website are provided by Will Burrard-Lucas, United Kingdom. This policy explains the app’s local processing and the separate information involved when you visit the website or contact support.
Photos and metadata
The app reads the photos and folders you select to preview and export timestamps and watermarks. Originals stay unchanged. Exported JPEG copies may retain metadata from the original photo, including GPS location. Enable Remove GPS location before exporting to remove that information from the copies.
Mac handover reports include filenames, relative folder names, original date fields, resolved dates, corrections, export outcomes and the project/location labels you enter. Reports omit embedded GPS coordinates and absolute source paths. A location label you type is included. Corrections affect stamps, filenames and reports; original files and the date metadata in exported JPEG copies are retained. Check reports and copies before sharing. If you share them through another app or service, its privacy practices apply to that sharing.
Photos access in the mobile beta
Choosing images uses Apple’s system photo picker, which shares the images you select with Shot Stamp without granting full photo-library read access. When you export a finished batch, the app asks for permission to add its copies to Photos. You can decline that permission and still find the finished batch in Shot Stamp’s Exports area, save it to Files, or share copies. Selecting cloud photos or files may cause Apple or your file provider to download them to your device.
Settings and files stored on your device
Presets, imported watermark images and saved folder permissions are stored locally in Shot Stamp’s private application storage. Watermark images are copied into this storage so presets can continue to use them. There is no Shot Stamp cloud account or cloud synchronisation service.
On Mac, you control original photos and exports in Finder and can remove presets in the app. On iPhone and iPad, Shot Stamp keeps imported working copies and export history so you can continue after reopening it. Clear the photo queue to remove those imported copies, and delete a batch in Exports to remove its in-app files. Copies already saved to Photos or another Files folder are kept. Imported working copies are excluded from device backup; settings, presets, logos and exported files may be included in your device backups. Apple, iCloud Photos and your chosen file providers control their own backup and synchronisation behaviour. Contact support if you need help removing other local app settings. Shot Stamp does not receive this locally stored information.
Mac downloads and updates
The Mac app is distributed from ShotStamp.com and uses Sparkle for signed software updates. You can check manually or choose automatic checks and downloads in Settings. Sparkle asks before enabling automatic checks. Update requests and downloads go to this Cloudflare-hosted website and involve the technical request information described below. A request identifies the app and version through its user agent. Anonymous system profiling is disabled. No photographs, photo metadata, project records or local filenames are sent for updates.
Apple provides Developer ID signing and notarization services under Apple’s privacy policy. The app does not require a Shot Stamp account, licence server or payment service.
TestFlight beta services
Apple handles TestFlight distribution and any beta feedback or diagnostic information submitted through TestFlight under its own privacy policy. The mobile version remains a beta.

Contact and support
If you contact us, we use the contact details and information you provide to respond, investigate the issue and maintain relevant correspondence. Please avoid sending photographs or other personal information unless it is needed for your request.
Support messages are handled through the contact service on Frontier Two and its service providers. The contact page is on a separate website; review the information provided there before sending a message. We keep support correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to handle the request, related follow-up or applicable legal obligations.

Where a request relates to a purchase or a legal obligation, we may also process information for that purpose. Service providers may process information outside your country under the protections described in their policies.
You can ask about information you have supplied to us, request access, correction or deletion, or object to processing where applicable. Use Will Burrard-Lucas’s contact page and mention “Shot Stamp privacy”. UK visitors can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office; elsewhere, your local data protection authority may be able to help.
Changes
Updates to this policy will appear here with a revised effective date. Material changes to the app’s data handling will be reflected before they take effect.
