A LITTLE HELP
Shot Stamp support.
Get started, find your exports, and get in touch.
Shot Stamp is free for Mac. The iPhone and iPad version remains a beta and is not publicly available.
Install on Mac
Download the ZIP from ShotStamp.com, double-click it to extract Shot Stamp, then drag the app into Applications and open it. The app is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple. macOS may still show its standard confirmation for an app downloaded from the internet.
Updates
Choose Shot Stamp > Check for Updates… to check manually. Open Settings to choose automatic checks and downloads. Sparkle asks before enabling automatic checks. Only update requests and downloads use the network; photos and project records stay on your Mac.
Getting started on Mac
Choose JPEG or HEIC photos, or drop a folder into Shot Stamp. Enter your project title, optional location label and photo-reference prefix. Use Review dates & corrections to inspect capture dates and apply explicit clock shifts or supplied dates. Choose your stamp and watermark settings, check Preview batch, then click Export handover package.
Original files stay unchanged. Shot Stamp gives new exports a different filename when the destination already contains a file with the same name.
Mac export folders
With Include contact sheet and photo index enabled, each export creates a new handover folder in your chosen destination. It contains Photos, Contact sheet.pdf and Photo index.csv. With reports off, folder imports create a Timestamped folder inside the source folder; individual photo imports require an output folder.
Why was a Mac photo skipped?
A timestamp needs a capture date in the photo’s metadata. If it is missing, explicitly supply a date in the date-review window, or enable the Finder-date fallback if you want to use that date. Corrections affect stamps, filenames and reports; originals and the date metadata in exported copies are retained. To export a watermark without a date, turn Timestamp off and choose a filename format without date or time tokens.
Why do I need to choose a folder again?
macOS limits access to your files. Selecting a folder gives Shot Stamp permission to use it. If access expires, select it again. Reconnect disconnected drives or choose another destination. Read-only folders cannot receive exports.
Mobile beta: iPhone and iPad
Choose images from Photos, or use Browse Files to import images and folders. JPEG, HEIC and PNG still images are supported. Open Stamp, Watermark or Output, check the preview, then tap Save to Photos. Tap Stamped to compare with the original. On a wide iPad, settings appear beside the preview.
Saving mobile exports
Finished copies save to Photos automatically when you export. Shot Stamp asks for permission to add them the first time. If you decline, your finished batch stays in the app's Exports area. From there you can try Photos again, explicitly save the batch to Files, or share copies. To allow Photos saving later, open Shot Stamp’s permissions in Settings.
Missing dates on iPhone and iPad
The app uses the capture date recorded inside the image, never its import or download date. An edited image supplied by Photos may have less metadata; try importing the original through Files. To watermark an undated photo, turn Timestamp off and choose a filename without date or time tokens. The Finder-date fallback is available only on Mac.
Mobile storage and long batches
Keep Shot Stamp open during long exports. Images larger than 60 MP cannot be exported on iPhone or iPad. If an export is interrupted, completed copies remain available and the queue is retained. Clear the photo queue to remove imported working copies. Deleting an in-app export batch does not remove copies already saved to Photos or another Files folder.
Saved styles
Open Presets and save the current stamp, watermark and output settings. On iPhone or iPad, tap a preset to apply it, or touch and hold to rename or update it. Presets stay on the device where you created them. Mac presets also retain project labels, references, the report choice and output destination. Date corrections belong to the current batch and clear on quit or when you clear the batch.
Can I remove location information?
Enable Remove GPS location before exporting. This removes GPS metadata from the JPEG copies; the original photos keep their existing metadata.
Supported files and devices
On Mac, Shot Stamp imports JPEG and HEIC and exports JPEG. It requires macOS 14 or later and supports Apple silicon and Intel Macs. On iPhone and iPad, iOS or iPadOS 17 or later is required; JPEG, HEIC and PNG images up to 60 MP are supported. Only the still image of a Live Photo is used. RAW files, video and animated formats are not supported.
Contact
Use the Shot Stamp feedback form at Frontier Two for a question, bug report or feature request. For a problem report, include the app version, device and operating-system version, file format and what happened. A screenshot of an error is often enough; avoid sending private photos unless necessary.
